در زمان حال به سه شکل اصلی میآید To Be

در زمان گذشته:
was
were
am / is / are استفاده از
I → am: I am a student
He / She / It → is: He is a boy
You / We / They → are: You are a doctor
To Be منفی کردن فعل
برای منفی کردن، فقط not را بعد از فعل میآوریم:
I am not tired.
To Be سوالی کردن فعل
Am I late?
Is he your friend?
To Be زمان گذشته
I / He / She / It was برای
You / We / They were برای
